Harvard French Scholarship Fund
The Harvard French Scholarship Fund (HFSF), established by the Harvard Club of France to support students from France attending Harvard University, has recently focused its efforts on providing the opportunity to excellent high-school students from underserved communities to attend Harvard Summer School (with all expenses paid).
To this end, it has established a partnership with the city of Saint-Denis, north of Paris. The new HFSF program aims to provide an opportunity for young people to get international exposure, by studying at the Harvard Summer School with other young people from all over the world.
This year, 10 students from Saint-Denis were proposed by their high-school principals as candidates. They received support in preparing their application through specific English lessons in cooperation with the British Council, and with preparing application materials. Among these students, 2 were selected to receive a full scholarship to attend Harvard Summer School in 2024, and have recently received admission to the program. All 10 students are offered mentoring by members of the Harvard French Alumni community on an ongoing basis.
