The conversation will be moderated by Denise Silber, Vice President for Communication, Harvard Club of France. Isidore will comment on his films with some video examples, tell us how his career came to be, answer your insightful questions, and join us for the cocktail.
Isidore Bethel is a French-American filmmaker who has produced and edited films that have been screened at the Cannes Festival (Official Selection), MoMA, and the Pompidou Center. His work as a director has received the Paris LGBTQ+ Film Festival’s Jury price and has been screened at the Boston LGBT, Los Angeles, and Atlanta Film Festivals as well as in galleries in the US, the UK, and Mexico.
He has been a Lagardère Foundation, and Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Fellow, a Berlinale Talents, Tribeca Film Institute Network, IFP, Film Independent, and Eurodoc Fellow, as well as an artist-in-residence with the Académie de France à Rome’s Villa Medici Villa Medici, and the University of Kent and a Guest Artist at CalArts and Yale. He has taught at Sarah Lawrence College and Parsons in Paris.
