Regional Strategy

The Harvard Club of France is the second largest Harvard alumni club in Europe with 3000 alumni, of which nearly 30% live outside Paris and Ile-de-France. COVID shed the light on the need to address our alumni in the regions.

At HCF, we have been committed to reaching out to all the community through a series of dedicated events, virtual and in-person, to provide opportunities for all to connect.

We have one dedicated board member based in Bordeaux, Charlotte Nickerson, in charge of coordinating our regional strategy. She is following in the steps of Caroline Watson who initiated the first regional events for the Club.

For most of the events, we are partnering with our friends from the Ivy+ clubs to extend the community to other experiences of top-level American universities.

Our regional strategy in a nutshell:

  • One dedicated board member and one volunteer
  • Identify a local coordinator in each of France’s main regions
  • Target high visibility local events and gather events over several days to attract a wider base of alumni from different areas
  • Collaborate with other Ivy Clubs - Open to all Ivy+
  • Follow HCF global strategy to drive membership and engagement
