Bordeaux awaits – a city renowned for having the highest density of restaurants in France outside of Paris, promising an unparalleled culinary adventure!
The Harvard Club of France is excited to be hosting its second regional event in Bordeaux, a Gastronomy Journey, for alumni of all IVY + Schools, their families and friends.
Come join us for a Food tour of Bordeaux, a visit to the world-famous La Cité du Vin, a Fine-Dining experience in the city, a Wine Tasting in Pessac-Léognan at the Grand Cru Classé Pape Clément, as well as lively meals at local restaurants.
We encourage those coming individually as well as those wishing to bring families and friends. This is an event for everyone!
Join us for one event, two, or the entire weekend. Whether you are coming from Paris, are local to Bordeaux or even joining us from abroad, this is a wonderful opportunity to visit this trendy and rich gastronomic landscape in Southwestern France.

The Weekend Agenda
Friday, 7th March 2025 – Evening Welcome
7:30pm : Arrive in Bordeaux and kickstart the weekend with a convivial gathering at a carefully selected local restaurant, creating the perfect opportunity for alumni to reconnect and new friends to meet.
Open to both adults and children. Venue will be confirmed 1 week in advance based on group size. Estimated price (excluding drinks) will be around €30 per adult.
Payment will be made directly at the restaurant. Just let us know if you’re joining.
Saturday, 8th March – Culinary Expedition
11:30am : Gourmet Walking Tour with The No-Diet Club
Embark on an energetic and immersive 4-hour food tour that will tantalize your taste buds and unveil Bordeaux’s culinary secrets. Traverse the city’s most celebrated bakeries and restaurants, sampling an array of local delicacies that capture the essence of the region’s cuisine.
This event is suitable for both adults and children.
Price: €59 per adult, €42 ages 5-12, free for children under 5

3:30pm : Visit to La Cité du Vin
Our food tour will be followed by a visit to the world-famous La Cité du Vin, where we’ll share a glass of wine on the museum’s rooftop, providing a spectacular view of la Belle Endormie.
This event is suitable for both adults and children. Duration of the visit approximately 2 hours.
Price: €22 for adult, €9 for children.
Tickets need to be bought ahead of time directly from the museum on this page and include a glass of wine or grape juice on the rooftop.
7:30pm : Fine Dining Experience
Indulge in an exquisite dinner at one of Bordeaux’s most esteemed restaurants. We will confirm our group size with the restaurant two weeks in advance.
This event is open to children ages 6 and over, but children’s menus may not be available.
Price: Menu will vary from €70-100.

Sunday, 9th March – Wine and Heritage
10:00 am : Tour of Château Pape Clément, Grand Cru Classé
Discover the historic Château Pape Clément, Grand Cru Classé de Graves, with a guided tour followed by a curated wine tasting of three exceptional local vintages. Visiting the Château is plunging into 7 centuries of history, surrounded by a beautiful garden.
This event is suitable for both adults and children (free).
Price: €26 per person/adults, free for children under 18.

Château Pape Clément is accessible from the city centre (Hôtel de ville/République) via local bus (lines 1 and 24 – travel time about an hour) or car.
1:00pm : Farewell Brunch
We will conclude our Bordeaux adventure with a delightful and relaxed brunch in the city center.
This event is suitable for both children and adults. Restaurant will be booked 1 week in advance based on group size and composition.
Price: The meal will likely be around €28-45 per adult, excluding drinks. Children’s menus are available and are generally around €15 per child.

All travel to and from the venues is self-organised, we have chosen places that are easily accessible by public transport. For those joining us, we will set up a WhatsApp group for easy communication and welcome anyone with cars able to offer ride share as needed.
We recommend booking at AirBnb or hotel in central Bordeaux for the Friday and Saturday nights if you are able to stay the entire weekend and all venues can be easily accessed via transport from the city centre.
